friday the 23rd may: myself and plasticpaddy flew out from liverpool airport to cork, then on to our digs at cloghane on the dingle peninsular via a hire car, a journey of about 3 hours. arrived just after midnight, after a brew or two and a bit of a gab with jack and anne (our hosts) we were shown to our rooms and grabbed a few hours kip. saturday 24th may: the alarm went off at 0500 no lie in today, as we had to get down to brandon harbour to get fresh mack for the day ahead. then back to basecamp for breakfast and lots of strong coffee, after an age of deliberation as the weather was blowing an absolute hoolie jon decided dingle lighthouse would give the best chance of shelter from the gales. i was was first in with a monster of a dab of 1lb 6oz which was quickly named "goliath" jon was quickly into the pollock then the thornies a thornie for me a pic looking down to the mark, a cracking day, i struggled to catch,,,,but i learned a few more tricks, and will put them into practice next time !! thanks jon mate,,!!
