sunday 24th in a constant crucible of changing, and worsening weather and fronts it was almost immpossible to pick a mark to fish from, so with strong south westerlies we headed to the north of the penninsular to find some cover, fishing first at derrymore strand, the wind curled round the mountains and hit us from the east. jon managed a flounder, we moved on to castle gregory, but it was chokker with surfers and windsurfers so we carried on to stradbally, now this was a north facing storm beach, we waded out to waist deep to cast peeler and sandeel baits for the big turbot, but only one fish was caught,,,,, as the bass were out of season we stopped fishing more time will spent at this mark in august! after a scran we headed to dingle harbour in search of big conger fished into darkness but no joy, all in all it was my third visit to the penninsular, and the more i go,,the more i need to go again,, totally addictive, i wouldn't hesitate to retire there and spend my days fishing and crabbing etc !!

I went down to this part of the world last summer, what a lovely place.
We got the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin and then drove down to Wexford where we went on a bass hunt. Having spent a couple of days there with nothing biting we headed up to the Dingle.
To be honest we picked the wettest day of the year to go over according to the locals and there were massive swells coming in making some of the marks totally unfishable. In the end we were washed out and decided to get the ferry back a few days earlier and get some fishing in on home shores.
I would definitely go back though. looks like you had cracking weather there.
